The Knot Real Weddings

Our lovely clients Andrea and Drew's beautiful wedding is featured in the Fall/Winter 2015 issue of The Knot New Jersey. We were thrilled to be included in the "Special Jersey Shore Guide" of their Real Weddings section. Andrea and Drew were married at the marvelous Mallard Island Yacht Club last spring. We created an original watercolor illustration based on the bride's bouquet, and it was complemented on the invitation with gray letterpress and rose gold foil, printed by Milkfed Press.

Monogram & Scallop Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Shannon and Werner were married last weekend. Shannon approached us earlier in the year hoping we could create a pattern based on the scalloped beading on her wedding dress.  An asymmetrical design appealed to her, so we collaborated to design an original monogram with this idea in mind. The pattern was blind letterpressed in the corner and the monogram and text letterpressed in blue ink. We alternated using silver/gray and blue on the cards and envelopes. The couple had fun using their monogram for several reception pieces, including a mock wine barrel for cards, a cake topper, and custom silver matchbooks. Letterpress printing by  Milkfed Press.

Cornbury Park - Oxfordshire, England Save the Dates

Gaby and Domenic will be married next summer in England at the amazing Cornbury Park Estate. She engaged us to create a hand-tinted sketch of the wedding venue for the front of the card. The back of the card featured watercolor illustration references to New York (their home together) and London (her original home).

Caitlin and Dan's Formal Engraved Black, White and Silver Wedding invitations

We are about a year late showing off this graphic black, white and silver wedding invitation set. Caitlin and Dan were married in Manhattan last September. We used silver engraving, black and white metallic stocks, and custom stamps to create a formal, glitzy feel. An original illustration of the New York City skyline was used for the RSVP card and then again in reverse for custom stamps. We also created a drawing of their church for ceremony programs and combined graphic black and white stripes and a soft pink watercolor splash for their double-sided wedding menus.

Handlettered Letterpress Simplicity

It is always exciting to get an opportunity to have our original art and hand lettering letterpressed. Our friend Victoria of Milkfed Press printed these lovely invitations for Kate and Andrew's wedding. The suite was printed on Arturo cotton stock and featured a vintage hydrangea engraving. We worked backwards, creating the KA monogram first for their save the date, then later designed the rest of the letters to complete their names. Later on, the mother of the bride returned to commission a "C" to complete Kate & Andrew's married monogram. It is shown above along with the two letter monogram, which was embroidered by the bride's aunt and used as a bouquet wrap.

Hand lettered Beach Wedding invitations

For Julie and Jon's beach wedding invitation, we updated our existing dune grass and beach fence art with original hand lettering. Digital art was mixed with a watercolor beach rose illustration. The suite was printed on white linen card stock, which is accentuated by bold pink and navy accents.

Antique Book Wedding Invitations

Tiffany contacted us last fall requesting a wedding invitation that parodied an antique book. When we met, we found out that she wished to recreate the cover of a specific book, 'The Water Witch," by James Fennimore Cooper. The classic sea adventure's setting was Tiffany and Thomas's June wedding venue. The Water Witch Clubhouse, in Highlands, New Jersey sits atop one of the highest points on the eastern seaboard and boasts sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and New York Harbor. We created a pen and ink drawing of the Clubhouse and designed the book jacket around it. The cover was printed in gold thermography on a linen card stock. The couple's Golden Retriever made an appearance on the back book cover and on the bookmark/direction card.

Beach Thank You Cards

Original hand lettered watercolor "Thank You" greeting card.

Simple Nautical Elegance

We love the simple elegance of Molly and Mark's nautical wedding invitation. Gold thermography is accentuated by the contrast of a navy linen paper. A gold envelope lined with bold navy and white stripes offsets the invitation.

Pencil Sketch Beach Wedding

Erika and Keith wanted a soft, natural look to their beach wedding invitations. We created a pencil sketch of a beach walk to the ocean and a beach rose for their rsvp card. As they will be relocating to California soon, they also wanted a souvenir of their years spent living in Manasquan.

Key West Southernmost Point Buoy Save the Dates

Destination weddings are usually a great opportunity for us to design something atypical, and this is especially true for save the dates. Our clients Mandy and Ed will be married next year at Truman Little White House in Key West, but wanted a more general Key West theme for their save the date cards. The southernmost point buoy worked well in parody format, and is immediately recognizable as a symbol of the storied Florida destination.

Henna Mehdi-Inspired Wedding Invitations

Nina and DJ will be married on the beach in Ship Bottom, NJ in June. We combined hand drawn henna patterns and hand lettering, along with a portrait of the couple's Yorkie, Coco, to create this whimsical and unconventional wedding invitation suite. As always, having a fun color palette added to the overall spirit of the piece.
